At WSZOP about designer drugs
A group of press, radio and tv journalists attended the defence of the thesis ending the first edition of post-graduate studies in the field of Forensics and Forensic Toxicology at the University of Occupational Safety Management in Katowice.
The graduates raised extremely important problems in their presentations. They spoke, among others, about new psychoactive substances (designer drugs), the use of date rape drugs for criminal purposes and about the awareness of youth about the dangers of using psychoactive substances.
Many of these substances are still not tested. Therefore, we do not know how to help the person who took the these drugs because it is not known what exactly he/she took - emphasized the graduates.
The University of Occupational Safety Management in Katowice is the only university in Poland that runs the postgraduate studies in the field of Forensics and Forensic Toxicology. The employees of Special Services, Border Guard, policemen, chemists, forensic analysts, etc. are studying here.
The postgraduate studies are carried out at the university's toxicological and forensic laboratories (the only ones so extensive in Poland) to help participants learn about the latest developments, methods and tools of modern forensics.
We congratulate all graduates and wish them many successes in their professional work.
