Internal security


The studies are of interdisciplinary character and they are addressed to those who are interested in the knowledge on: security of people in the European Union, political and social problems, issues connected with immigrants and human rights as well as criminology and forensic science, penalty law, psychology of witnesses’ testimonies as well as protection of people and property. Educational programme combines academic knowledge and practical skills. The candidates should be in good health and physical condition – the course of studies covers classes in martial art, training in shooting as well as conditioning camp. The classes are run by prominent specialists and practitioners, among others, from detective studies, clinical psychology and forensic toxicology.

The graduates will be prepared to work in the units and organisations which have influence on widely understood security. Depending on the chosen specialty they can apply for a job in the agencies for protection of people and property, detective agencies, special forces, emergency management, in prison service, municipal police, border guards and police.

The most important task of the state is to ensure public security to the society. Each country needs officers effective in their activities being the guarantors of social order. The studies prepare to undertake the activities connected with crime prevention and fighting against social pathology. The classes cover also techniques of fighting with the use of tools and self-defense. They allow to obtain practical skills necessary in the future job with persons being in the situations of health or life threat.

Forensics is a branch of science aiming at detecting the perpetrator through collecting evidence connected with committing the crime. Criminology is the science about crime, perpetrator, it contains a separate subbranch called victimology (science about victim). The programme of studies provides knowledge from the field of criminality in the sociological, psychological, criminological, forensic aspect, as well as on the basis of the science on social pathologies. Educational programme covers practical classes on court toxicology and laboratory techniques used in detecting and documenting committing the crime.

Uniformed services require from the candidates exceptional abilities and physical fitness. The educational programme covers issues connected with functioning of the internal security institutions, monitoring threats, communication and media in crisis management as well as using the intervention techniques by uniformed services. The studies allow to acquire the abilities to use the tactics of the protection of people and property. The programme of studies covers classes in training shooting, self-defence and fighting techniques.
